Shared namespaces aren't supported in OpenCost yet. We can leave this open as a feature request, but for now it's not available.

I'm not very familiar with the Victoria Metrics integration, we'd need someone with more experience with it to weigh in on the issue.

@namm2 Good catch! I've confirmed the other providers have this set to zero. @opencost/opencost-maintainers any reason this may have been set differently?

If we don't set it to 0%, could we add the rationale as a comment?

There have been requests to expose Cloud Costs in Prometheus too, that would be very high cardinality and time-delayed 24-48 hours.

This breaks the date picker, it's going to need more debugging.

@alrs thanks for the PR. @AjayTripathy or any of the other @opencost/opencost-maintainers from Kubecost, is this from Kubecost?

Another point for splitting, we merged a CVE dependency fix for the UI that won't ship until we do an OpenCost release. Splitting them would allow independent releases.

Another benefit pointed out by @cliffcolvin would be we can have separate maintainers for the UI and the OpenCost cost model. It will reduce the number of issues for `opencost/opencost`...

Sending this to Kubecost Engineering, this likely affects them too.
