With the recent changes in ThreeJS, and the introduction of NodeMaterials in core ThreeJS accessible when using the WebGPURenderer, it may be interesting to look into switching to using it....

Plot not taking the full available space

As seen in the following screenshot the plot is not taking the full available space:  This was tested with latest bqplot (0.12.39), we should investigate this.
