Edit a polygon with a mouse down event only

Hi,

After creating a polygon I would like to edit the shape of a polygon with one mouse down event and drag the vertex to a new location. No matter how many polygons I have on the map, I would like to be able to edit their shape by with a mouse down event and dragging the vertex to a new location. The current method has three steps, select the polygon, select a vertex, then move it to a new location. Is there a way to streamline this?

Did you ever get anywhere with this? I'm looking at the same issue. I might experiment with custom modes.
