location services off blinks dialog

Assigned to MapBox iOS SDK #1600. As reported in Tender:

Hi on trying mapbox ios examples If location services are off then the message "Turn on Location Services to Allow "App Name " to Deteermine Your Location" appears for a fraction of a second and then disappears.

I need to solve this issue for a project, but could not find any hint what is going wrong. Do you have any clue where to start looking at first?

Because this flashes by so quickly users are missing the warning. They then will use maps that should show their location and confusion and bad app reviews result.
