Crashes when trying to view over ~1000 comments

see... I think it's simply because the app lacks pagination. too many comments and we have a crash.

its also horrible on your mobile data usage if there are lots of comments.

what methods could we use to add pagination to comments in the app?

In the meantime, hacker news has added comments pagination, which very likely doesn’t work in this app at the moment. I think this should be considered for implementation.
