fix: Local Setup on Windows

Open Rounak-stha opened this issue 1 year ago • 2 comments

This PR addresses #5420 . The setup issue was because of the line endings on the *-entrypoint.sh files. The linux containers expects LF as EOL but on windows on clone, git by default updates the line endings to CRLF.

For contributers with already a local copy, run the following:

git rm -rf --cached . # Clean the index
git reset --hard HEAD # Reset to last commit with revaluation as we cleared the index

Walkthrough

This change updates the .gitattributes file to specify that all shell script files (*.sh) should be treated as text files with line endings normalized to LF (Line Feed). This adjustment aims to ensure consistency in line endings across different operating systems, facilitating collaboration in a cross-platform environment.

Poem

🐰 In the meadow, scripts do play,
With LF endings, they dance all day.
No more worries, no more strife,
Just happy bunnies, scripting life!
Hoppity hop, let the code flow,
Together we thrive, in a seamless show! 🌼
