Form success & error messages

Hi! I'm having another issue with the Contact form on the default template. First of all, in the default setting, if you submit a message, a green bar appears at the top for about 1 second, and it then disappears. That's not too useful I think: Many users (except for power-users) won't even see the bar in that time and then they don't get any feedback whether their form was submitted.

I went to "Edit form" in the admin UI and set a "Success" and "Error Message". However, if I submit the form now, these texts don't appear anywhere.

The demo site seems to have the same issue, e.g.: https://app.respondcms.com/sites/aspire/page/contact.html

I think what is needed is a timer setting for that green or red bar (with a value for "infinitely"!), and/or the possibility to redirect to a "Thank you for submitting" (or possible error) page.

Btw, apologies for opening so many issues. I've discovered respond a couple days ago and it's really awesome, thank you so much for all that work and for making it available for free! I'm just stumbling over all these issues and from my perspective, I don't think they're related to my setup, as I did a fresh, clean install of the latest version with the default Bootstrap template, and everything seems okay otherwise.

No need to apologize for submitting issues. It helps make the project better.

Can you email a link to your test site at [email protected]? Or, is this local? I setup a test site on my dev build and it seems to work as expected. But, it could be a theme specific issue or a browser specific issue or something else entirely.

Cool! I'll create a new user and email you the details, thank you very much for looking into it!

I tried on latest Chrome and Edge (and the issue with the disappearing green bar is also present on your test site).

Just a note for myself. Default theme needs JS / plugin update to support error messages.
