I suspect this might actually make the problem worse. With this, a degree of trust in wallets having valid encrypted keys could develop, and it doesn't actually prevent the scam...
Concept NACK. Not only does it break the API, the current interface is what is expected for format specification everywhere.
If someone really doesn't want this behaviour, wouldn't they probably just not have a legacy/internal provider?
