'Help to move' still not abortable

Open LinuxOnTheDesktop opened this issue 6 years ago • 5 comments

Lucas Chess 11.14a

So far as I can tell - and I have already moaned (with reason, I believe) about this before* - the 'help to move' feature cannot be cancelled whilst the program is thinking. Still, I have some appreciation of the work that open source software involves.

  • Though I can find no extant bug report.

It is easy to click the 'help to move' button by accident. If one does so, then one has to wait - because the function is not abortable. This irritates.

In the new version there will be a cancel button.

I did leave this rather late - sorry. But I find that the link you provide does not work. I find also that the fairly new version that is 11.17b did not implement the change. Or perhaps it tries to - for, somehow, I saw this:

And when I clicked 'yes' the game did not in fact end; rather I saw a recommended move.
