Clicking a square versus clicking a piece
I played on Lichess a lot, sometimes against assholes : ) so, now I am taking a break. In Lichess, if I am not mistaken, clicking anywhere within a square grips the piece and moves it. In Lucas Chess, you have to make sure to grip the piece. I am not sure if that will fix the lag... I know I am being moronic playing 1 minute games against stockfish, but hey, whatever floats my boat... LOL! I am just not sure if you have already considered this and made a decision or... something to consider perhaps : )
Thre are three ways to move a piece, 1 via drag and drop, second pressing origin and destination squares, and third pressing destination if only a piece can be moved to this square, in other case is necessary press after the origin. In Options/Configuration/Boards, can be change from second and third.
In Options/Configuration/Boards, I changed speed=9 That did the trick.
In that case, disabling Visual effects (in the same window) is a better option.
I tried that it works well now.
I am using the click two squares method and it works the fastest. When using drag and drop, you have to grip the pieces correctly [and not the square], otherwise, nothing moves. Maybe this can be incorporated in the program... drag and drop from a square to a square, not just the piece because it is limiting! Area of a square occupies more space than just the size of a piece, which sits on a square.
