What happened?
Hangs on Download DevPod Agent...

What did you expect to happen instead?
Showing Download Progress

How can we reproduce the bug? (as minimally and precisely as possible)
I use setup Rancher Desktop, provider docker standard installation.

Local Environment:

  • DevPod Version: v0.5.19
  • Operating System: windows
  • ARCH of the OS: AMD64

DevPod Provider:

  • Local/remote provider: docker

Anything else we need to know?
didnt_receive_a_result_back_from_agent.log devpod_agent_hangs.log

I tried this on 2 different windows machines, both have the same issue. Im attaching 2 logs, for the one I managed to get more logging after I think restarting or creating a new workspace.

It then hangs at the "Inject binary" again without any logging, for 30minutes and then results in an error

Hey @ViktorTrojan thanks for reaching out and reporting this! I currently don't have access to window machine, need to spin something up to try to reproduce it, looking into this, will keep you posted 👀 In the meantime - anything specific in your setup that might come into play here? rancher settings, some security software etc., if anything comes to mind please share.

I'm stuck with the same error. I was trying again after a few months hoping that it was solved, but it's still not working.

[13:33:49] debug Inject binary
[13:33:49] debug Attempting to download DevPod agent from: https://github.com/loft-sh/devpod/releases/download/v0.5.22/devpod-linux-amd64

Running on

  • devpod 0.5.22
  • windows 11
  • wsl2
  • rancher desktop

I'm available for additional checks and tests if necessary, I'm really looking forward using devpod, but with this issue it's unusable.

Has no one picked this issue up, Im gettting the same error, however im using a kuberenetes cluster , specifically k3s running on ubuntu noble. Funny things is sometimes if i wait a day, reinstall the software devpod onto windows i won't get there error and boom it spins something up. Most the time im finding though that it just runs into that Agent Download error same as above. I think this is a great product, but if i cant get this to consistently work on my windows device with a kuberentes provider, the product is not usable. Please help.
