DevPod Desktop Not Starting

Open Gothmagog opened this issue 1 year ago • 3 comments

What happened?
I had an install of DevPod running correctly, until I had to reinstall it due to issues I was having with containers freezing. After doing a fresh install using v0.5.19 on Windows (and purging all WSL and image data from Docker) and deleting the .devpod folder from %HOME%, clicking DevPod from Windows menu does nothing.

What did you expect to happen instead?
The DevPod desktop app to start and display.

How can we reproduce the bug? (as minimally and precisely as possible)

My devcontainer.json: N/A

Local Environment:

  • DevPod Version: v0.5.19
  • Operating System: windows
  • ARCH of the OS: AMD64

DevPod Provider:

  • Cloud Provider: none (local)
  • Kubernetes Provider: n/a
  • Local/remote provider: I was using docker provider when I reinstalled
  • Custom provider: provide imported provider.yaml config file

Anything else we need to know?
I've tried using the CLI executable, but it seems to require existing projects.

Hi @Gothmagog, thanks for reporting the issue. Which version of windows are you on and to you know if you have additional security software installed that might interfere with DevPod?

It's Windows 11 Home. It's not a work PC, so I don't have anything beyond Windows Defender for anti-malware, etc.

At this point I just want to get to a fresh, working install, that's it.
