how to update core micropython

Thanks for this nice work. This is a general question I am confused/interested about. How did you update the core micro-python with "official" micro-python? Can you share me the process? I am just interested how you maintain it. I may want to use LoBo's micro-python as it has many features not inside core micro-python, but if I want to update with core micro-python to keep update (just in case), is it possible? Is it a manual process or some git commands?
