Typecover touchpad cursor movement delay
I've noticed that the first time I use the touchpad on the typecover there is a slight delay between my action and the cursor movement. The mouse will jump pretty far across the screen. It will then work fine moving smoothly until I stop using the typecover for more than 6-10 seconds, and then it will happen again. Move my finger across the touchpad and the cursor jumps across the screen instead of moving smoothly.
Environment
- Hardware model: Surface Pro 5 (2017)
- Kernel version: Latest surface patched kernel
- Distribution: Ubuntu 22.10
I'm having the same issue.
- Kernel version: Linux Surface 6.3.9-1
- Distro: Fedora 38
- Device: Surface Pro 6
I can confirm I have the exact same issue.
Kernel version: 6.6.1 Distro: Debian 12 Device: Surface Pro 5
The typecover on those devices should be connected via USB. SO maybe it's something related to USB runtime suspend?
Thank you for your input qzed! I wish I had the patience, however, I switched to Ubuntu and the issue was resolved.
The rebel in me says I should go back to Debian to try and fix it. Learning about usb runtime while in ubuntu so that ill be ready.
