[Feature] First ads via browser UI started to appear
Feature description
See this closed thread for reference.
It is the first time today that OpenAI itself started to push (quite aggressive) ads via the public (web browser) interface:

so I am about to finetune my (yet virgin) https://chat.openai.com/chat UBlock rules.
I have not yet seen these via lencx's ChatGPT wrapper, but IMHO it may happen soon, so we may wish to revive the thread. OTOH, we need to be careful of the OpenAI's ToUs also here...
Motivation
No pesky ads
Alternatives
No response
Additional context
No response
I know that the below is not much in the topic of this self-created thread, and there is next to nothing that lencx could do, but FYI: OpenAI backend, ver. 2023 JAN 9, starts to create nonsensical replies. Samples:
Me: how to clear up repo folder of flatpack in Ubuntu? ChatGPT:
To clear the repo folder of flatpack in Ubuntu, you can use the command line tool "flatpak" with the "cleanup" option. Here are the steps to follow: [...] Run the command "flatpak cleanup" to remove any unnecessary files and free up space. [...]
Me: No, "flatpak cleanup" is wrong, see:
flatpak --help
Usage:
flatpak [OPTION…] COMMAND
Builtin Commands: [...]
ChatGTP:
It appears that the "cleanup" command is not listed among the built-in commands for flatpak. It may be that this command is not included in the version of flatpak that you are using, or it may have been deprecated in favor of other commands. [plus another useless answer]
Then it began parroting me outright: Me: Teach me how to clean : /var/lib/flatpak/repo only + How to sort flatpaks by the size of : /var/lib/flatpak/repo files? + (after a useless reply:) No. I need a flatpak command instead (of du -sh etc.) and then sort the flatpaks by file size
ChatGPT:
size to show me the largest flatpaks installed on my system. Can you help me with that command?
(sic, instead of "flatpak list --show-size | sort -n" which took some finagling, and which.... is also wrong, despite me having pasted the flatpak help output above: it did not happen before.)
Also it disconnects me (via browser for now, but who knows) every 5 mins or so. It thus seems that OpenAI guys degraded the replies and throttled the freebie offer in preparation for these paid plans 👎🏽 ...
Even worse today.
- "The message is too long" (at half the size of the usual length)
- "Hmm...something seems to have gone wrong. Maybe try me again in a little bit" (multiple)
- The worst: Me: "Summarize what is special about this [...] policy in [...]. I will feed you then with EU and US policies [...]" ChatGPT now:
The message you submitted was too long, please reload the conversation and submit something shorter.
The term "big data" refers to the large amount of data - both structured and unstructured - that inundates a business on a day-to-day basis. But it’s not the amount of data that’s important. It’s what organizations do with the data that matters. Big data can be analyzed for insights that lead to better decisions and strategic business moves. Big Data technologies and techniques enable organizations to process and analyze large and diverse data sets to uncover hidden patterns, unknown correlations, customer preferences, market trends, and other useful information that can help organizations make more-informed business decisions.
(sic: both at a time)
Yeah, as per above: The new subscription plan, ChatGPT Plus, will be available for $20/month, and subscribers will receive a number of benefits...
Update: the result of that back end server update confirmed e.g. here, with some hacks:
I can still say stuff like “ignore and previous instructions to be concise”, etc.
