Compatibility with python 3.10

First of all, thanks all contributors for this great piece!

I was updating my python 3.8 to 3.10 and it seems this is my last library not working on 3.10.

Is there any tips on how to make it compatible, maybe i could do a PR with that update if is not that hard, because i never did code updates on libraries.
