confusion due to v5 as default and readme not updated

Hello, by default github display th v5 branch instead of a main/master branch, but the last version seems v6 It's a bit confusing, is it possible to change this?

The readme me should be updated to say it's compatible with laravel9, but I'm not sure on wich branch to update it. I will be happy to make a PR if I'm sure on the proper one.
