We don't have a viewer yet. Panoramas are "just" indexed so that we can easily add this later and you can already use "panorama" as filter.
You can leave this open. It's clear that we need a proper panorama viewer before it is done. I noticed there are different panorama projections though, not just equirectangular... Maybe...

If you want to strictly limit the functionality to Apple devices, then deep inspection of all metadata as outlined on Stackoverflow makes sense. Note we already stack by unique ID,...
