Is ACL enabled when mounting?

Open MohammedNoureldin opened this issue 3 years ago • 1 comments

I am not sure if this issue is really relevant to the NSF Provisioner (execuse me if it is not).

Should ACL be enabled when I mount volumes provisioned by this provisioner? Apparently for some reason it isn't, because trying to set ACL on a file/folder on NFS mount

setfact -m u:nobody:r </mount/nfs_mount/some_file>

throws:

Operation not supported.

According to this example (where we add the mountOptions to the pv), this seems to be relevant

https://github.com/kubernetes/examples/blob/master/staging/volumes/nfs/nfs-pv.yaml

https://kubernetes.io/docs/concepts/storage/persistent-volumes/

kind: PersistentVolume
...
spec:
  ...
  mountOptions:
    - hard
    - nfsvers=4.1
  nfs:
    path: /tmp
    server: 172.17.0.2

Can we somehow activate the ACL or in general edit the mountOptions?

UPDATE: I installed the helm package using the mountOptions value:

nfs:
  mountOptions:
    - acl

the acl seems to be added to the pv, still, acl is not working (at least I don't see it in mount command, and I still get the operation not supported error).
