Open PDF file in OHIF Viewer
Hi. I use dicomweb-proxy as bridge between DCM4CHEE and OHIF Viewer 3.9.1. I have issue that my OHIF VIewer can't display DICOM with SOPClassUID si Encapsulated PDF. Is it maybe related with the dicomweb-proxy? Did dicomweb-proxy support to transfer Encapsulated PDF DICOM file?
Because I just saw the config/default.json and found: ""mimeType": "image/dicom+jpeg","
So, I asking this to get confirmation. Thank you
Hi, I assume you use an old version of dcm4chee, because the modern dcm4chee supports dicomweb directly which is preferable. Can you specify what the issue is? Any error messages on the proxy? Also have a look at the requests from OHIF to see if they fail. It could also be a misconfiguration on the OHIF side.
Yes, I use the old version of dcm4chee 2.x. The issue is that I can't display DICOM files containing Encapsulated PDF Files, either with the DOC or ECG modality. In that screenshot, I use built-in OHIF Viewer from dicomweb-proxy.
I am certain that my DICOM files contain PDFs because they can be opened with another viewer.
Could you explain how to properly display PDFs through OHIF and dicomweb-proxy?
Also, since you mentioned the newer version of dcm4chee, does that mean I wouldn’t need dicomweb-proxy if I use DCM4CHEE 5.x?
Hi, I could reproduce the issue yesterday. It seems like the response from the proxy needs to be different in order for OHIF to render it as PDF, need to investigate.
That said, I still recommend that you update to dcm4chee 5, you would not need a middleman (proxy) for connecting OHIF viewer which will work more reliably and definitely also faster (as it can send the data directly to the viewer). The proxy is meant for legacy PACS that cannot be upgraded/replaced.
Alright, thank you!
@AlfandiMario interestingly updating the viewer to the latest 3.10 version fixes the issue with PDFs, no code change on my side needed. Just pull the latest which now comes bundled with it.
