Possible to have an option to change the position of the color-rectangle?

In my opinion I would prefer to have the color rectangle right in front of the color. It is close to the color, so I don't have to move the mouse to the line number section. So I would prefer, if possible to have an option to change the position of this rectangle. Default should be the line number section as it is and an option to set the color retangle infront or behind the color.
