I still get a stuck modifier once in a blue moon (but I haven't found the pattern) and I have a known bug with multipurpose mods that shouldn't be too...
I think perhaps if we checked for QWERTY + A +Z that perhaps we could then drop the "BTN_MOUSE" requirement?

This sounds like a plugin/addon... A GUI app that could perhaps query us and ask for the current keymap and then do something with it (present it however it chooses)....
