[5.2, 5.3] Submission/Cancel Redirect at menu item "Create article" doesn't work on fresh installations

Steps to reproduce the issue

Create a menu item "Create Article" In the options chose a menu Item (not Home) where it should redirect after submission or canceling the article. Go to the menu item "Create Article" and create a new article or just click Cancel.

Expected result

Redirect to the choosen menu item

Actual result

Redirect to homepage (Home)

System information (as much as possible)

Joomla 5.3 10.11.11-MariaDB PHP 8.317 / 8.2.27

Tested in a fresh Joomla 5.3 installation

I cannot replicate the issue. Redirect works as expected.

Issue confirmed. It works from the button inside the categories list but the redirect has no effect when you access the menu item directly.

I have tested it in different Joomla installations with different hosters and found out that it seems to only not work in a fresh Joomla 5.3. In a Joomla website that has been updated from Joomla 3 or Joomla 4 to Joomla 5, it works. I've also tested it on a fresh Joomla 5.2.6 and it doesn't work.
