This issue is not forgotten at all, this is a known issue with visual studio. The IDE is having issues with the resolution of static resources, which are generally worked-around...

Thanks for the update! This looks related to https://github.com/unoplatform/Uno.Themes/issues/283, as the resources are not defined in the XAML seemingly because of a UWP issue. /cc @kazo0

Thanks for the feedback! This is partly caused by this issue: https://github.com/xamarin/xamarin-macios/issues/4923 Once the updates get published (most likely with VS16) this will be a lot better.
