Resting mechanics are not communicated very well
If a rest is successful, there needs to be some sort of indication - such as particles, text or status effect. Conversely there needs to be indication when rest is not successful.
For example, there can be simple text under "Energy" that says "Too uncomfortable to rest", and the text changes to "Resting..." when rest is successful.
A similar game handles this by printing messages.
You shiver. A warm fire would help.
You toss and turn. The bare ground is not a good place for sleeping.
I think this would fit here, too.
