[JENKINS-14045] Add ability to change dashboard diagrams time-scale "grain" for Trend charts
Currently, the trend charts can only provide daily updated view, so it is difficult to see on long-time trend from these charts.
These charts should be configurable so that it would be possible to select another grain (such as weekly, or monthly or every N days), in order to reduce the detail level in favor of a long term trend.

I would also like to be able to define start and end of a day.
Use case: We are running a huge regression test campaign during night starting at 20:00 h and lasting until the early morning around 4:00 h. Currently this means that the test trend charts show half of the tests of a campaign on one day, the other tests are shown for the next day. The exact time a test is executed is quite random and depends on node availability etc. So there is always a mixture of two campaigns per day and the graphs are misleading for our us...
Or should I file a different ticket because this is totally unrelated?
Dirk, can you open another issue as it is different than this one and then we can easily see your suggestion in JIRA.
When you select "week" as the time unit for showing the results, how would you suggest us computing the result for that week? Should that be the last test result for that week?
