Large amount of recorded data causes issues
I have noticed an issue where if there are a lot of recorded videos in the record folder, it causes various issues with iSpy. Here are the issues observed:
- iSpy says the camera is offline even though it is not.
- iSpy will run slow and say not responding.
- iSpy will also tend to automatically create a new camera, which creates a new recording folder. At this time, the camera comes back online which proves it is a problem related to the recording folder.
Upon looking at the record folder, I noticed that there were about 50Gb worth of video files. I know this sounds like a lot and yes, I know there are settings to limit data storage size which I had set to 100Gb because that is how much data I wanted and in the world of NVR and security footage, 50Gb is really not too much. But, it seems iSpy does not like this amount of data.
Some things to note, I have a 2TB drive for recordings, separate from the OS drive. This drive is nowhere near its 2TB limit.
Thanks!
I'm guessing this is related to how ispy stores its database rather than the size of the recordings. Agent dvr uses sqllite instead of xml and people with large installs have reported way better performance with that. It's on the download page and can load in ispy object configurations
