I'm probably not the first one to notice it, but it is quite hard to distinguish them from the background.

My suggestion would be to append #gh-dark-mode-only and #gh-light-mode-only parameters at the end of the image. Problem is I am not sure about where to host the additional dark mode picture, as the regular one for the light mode is from wikimedia storage
