Repeated error when searching for internet connection

This is a great project, so thank you for creating/maintaining it!

I keep getting an error about not being able to find the GitHub repository. This happens every time I wake my computer up. Would it be possible to try several times to reach GitHub over a slightly longer period of time so I don't have to dismiss these alerts and re-confirm my GitHub token every time? I've had to disable the package a few times because it gets pretty annoying.
