Datasource variable filter not filtering the default option

Describe the bug After upgrading Grafana, the datasources variable filter does not filter the default option anymore. See the screenshot The regex works, but default is not getting filtered the regex.

Expected behavior The default option does not match the regular expression, so it should not be displayed. This was the behavior before 7.4.x.
