iOS App – Resuming the app (warm, in memory) resets the timeline to the top
The bug
Whenever resuming the iOS app while warm (eg, app is in memory / is not starting cold), the timeline always resets to the top of the timeline / current date.
Possibly the cause of or tangentially related to #10318.

Reproduction steps
1. Open iOS app (to ensure it's in memory)
2. Scroll your timeline position away from the top/current date
3. Leave app / go to home screen
4. Reopen app
5. "Building timeline" message flashes briefly before being taken to the top of the timeline again

I can confirm the same behavior in android app.
I’ve noticed the same issue, and it can be a bit disruptive when browsing older media. Every time I resume the app, the timeline resets to the top, which interrupts the flow. It would be a fantastic improvement if the app could remember where I left off and return me to that position.
Can't reproduce this error and if we lookg at the mention from lyagr that could probably be close
I had an issue with building the timeline. I fixed it by tapping on the icon in the top right corner of the upload cloud icon. From there, I selected all the albums, which resolved the timeline building issue I was experiencing on iOS.
This is no longer relevant with the new implementation, please open a new issue if it is still persisted
