Do you have any log output?
It works for me at least with following combination.
- Distro:
- Fedora 42
- Desktop Environment:
- COSMIC
- GNOME
- KDE Plasma
- Input Method:
- fcitx5 + mozc
- iced version:

- Application:
- TODOs, iced example app
Hmm... I have an older distribution and I'm using KDE instead of COSMIC... I'm kind of guessing it is the old distribution that is causing the issue. I'll find out when Debian switches to it's next version.
I additionally tested with GNOME, KDE Plasma desktops. It worked for me.
I have never tested this with X11 (non-wayland) setup. I'll test that later.
I confirmed the problem with the following environments. Both X11 and wayland session didn't work. It seems some components are too old, but I haven't looked into it yet.
- Distro:
- Debian 12 Bookworm
- Desktop Environment:
- KDE Plasma(Wayland)
- KDE Plasma(X11)
- Input Method:
- fcitx5 + mozc
- iced version:

Debian 13 Trixie has been released and IME works on that platform (with updated package kde-full), but I think bookworm is still supported:
End of life: 2026-06-10 End of LTS: 2028-06-30 End of ELTS: 2033-06-30
I doubt this is going to get fixed and with it working on the stable release of Debian I think I'll close this.
