Request to Modify Behavior of "Maximum Window Count" Feature to Include Option for Hiding Over Minimizing
Hello,
I'm a big fan of the "Maximum Window Count" feature and have been actively using it since its introduction. However, I've noticed a potential area for improvement pertaining to the behavior when the maximum window count is reached. Currently, when the limit is hit, the excess windows are minimized.
Before this feature's introduction, my preferred method for handling additional applications was to hide them (using cmd + h), as opposed to minimizing. The advantage of hiding over minimizing is that it improves application switching experience (via alt + tab). When a hidden application is selected, it conveniently reappears on the screen, unlike a minimized one.
To enhance user experience, I propose a modification to the "Maximum Window Count" feature. It would be extremely helpful to allow users to choose between minimizing and hiding applications when the maximum window count is reached.
I appreciate your consideration of this suggestion, and thank you for your ongoing efforts to improve this application.
Best Regards.
I second this. It's the main reason why I don't use the "max window count" feature. I was just looking into figuring out if there's a way to change the behavior of "minimizing" windows on MacOS, but seems there's not. Only to push "Option" while switching with CMD+Tab to a minimized app, but it's not a really efficient option.
The problem is that hiding is an application-level action, and not a window-level action.
I'd love to see this feature as well. Even if the applications are hidden (vs minimized windows), it's still a little more accessible to me.
