no effect of block confirmations on ethereum performance

I ma using hyperledger caliper for performance measurement of ethereum blockchain . The smart contract is deployed on the ropsten and I am able to generate the report, but "blockcconfirmation filed in network config file does not have any effect on the performance parameters. whether the blockconfirmations are 12 or zero, the result is almost same. and I am not able to view the transactions on ropsten explorer
