Hey there @tschamm, mind taking a look at this issue as it has been labeled with an integration (bosch_shc) you are listed as a code owner for? Thanks! (message by CodeOwnersMention)

That's right, the core integration is still missing the feature.

tschamm avatar Feb 06 '22 15:02 tschamm

@tschamm ok so please take this as a Feature Request and not as a Bug report, please 😏

I will do so, just waiting for the switch platform to be merged, afterwards I can prepare the climate platform.

tschamm avatar Feb 06 '22 15:02 tschamm

Since the switch platform is merged now, any updates on this?

I second that, please integrate the Thermostat as climate entity.

Thank you!

When this is added as a climate entity, will it also record statistics? I just wanted to compare temp recordings from an sensor and the thermostat. HA told me that for the Thermostat there is no statistics available.

The issue persist, Bosch Thermostate will still not recognized as an climate entity. :(

Hello all πŸ‘‹, first of all a big thank you to all developers - just cool what you create! πŸ‘ I hope it will eventually be worked on this problem further. It would be a pity if we could not control the Bosch Thermostate via HA.

I have created a Feature Request for this problem: https://community.home-assistant.io/t/bosch-shc-thermostat-as-climate-entity/479526

All who have the same problem and would like to have this function, please add a reaction to the post. Maybe we reach so attention. Thanks in advance and best regards! 😊

I'll come up with a PR proposal the upcoming days.

tschamm avatar Oct 24 '22 16:10 tschamm

looking forward to use the offical HA integration instead of the custom component :) only thing missing for me is the support for the thermostats. Thanks for all you efforts! :)

I am using the actual integration that way, you can get the actual temperature and the valve position, with a history chart it works fine for me, at least now for 3-4 days... The missing value is the goal temperature, hopefully this will be available with the new climate entity...

Hello together πŸ‘‹ I would like to ask politely if there are any updates regarding the Bosch thermostats? It is getting colder and there are so many possibilities to recognise and implement energy saving measures through Home Assistant. To be able to control the bosch thermostats in HA natively would be just awesome and offers a lot of potential! Many thanks for your work - sick project! 😍 Best regards!

Hi @tschamm do you have any update on this topic?

no updates?

CrysKilljoy avatar Feb 03 '23 22:02 CrysKilljoy

I'm lacking behind with this, deeply sorry for that.

The full functionality is already given when using the custom component boschshc-hass, that's why I put more effort in supporting all new devices there before adding existing functionality here.

As of Version 2023.5.1 there is still no native Climate Control in the HA Core Integration with Bosch SHC Thermostats.

I can only repeat what is written above: The full functionality is already given when using the custom component boschshc-hass, that's why I put more effort in supporting all new devices there before adding existing functionality here. I would feel very happy if more people would contribute to this integration, the features are available already, they just need to be merged into the codebase.

Yes, @tschamm , from my point of view everything is fine, I just wanted to state the fact that an update does not resolve the β€žissueβ€œ. Thank you for your great work πŸ‘
