Govee Bluetooth does not pick up most of the Govee bluetooth devices I have

Open zauberflute opened this issue 1 year ago • 11 comments

The problem

Govee Bluetooth only sees 4 out of 9 Govee bluetooth devices. It does see: 3 of the H5074 1 H5106

It does not see: 1 H5074 5 H5075

I know they are working because both iBeacon and the custom integration "Passive BLE Monitor" sees all of them running on the same HA/HAOS instance.

When I try to "Add Entry" it comes back with "No devices found on the network".

What version of Home Assistant Core has the issue?

core-2024.2.1

What was the last working version of Home Assistant Core?

No response

What type of installation are you running?

Home Assistant OS

Integration causing the issue

Govee Bluetooth

Diagnostics information

This integration does not provide diagnostic data and these is nothing in the logs

Example YAML snippet

No response

Anything in the logs that might be useful for us?

No response

Additional information

My intent was to migrate from "Passive BLE Monitor" but the official integration doesn't see all of the same devices.

I had the exact problem; 2 of my H5074 devices worked and 3 were ignored. I noticed that the 2 that worked had old firmware (1.00.01). Check to see if your missing devices are listed under "Ignored Integrations". If they're not there try running an older version of HA. I ran the 2023.12.3 docker image and my missing devices showed up under "Ignored Integrations". After adding them to HA I reloaded 2024.2.2 and everything is working fine. You may want to try a more recent version of HA to help identify when the bug was introduced.

Same. My H5075 and H5177 both stopped working somewhere around January or February.

Edit: solved it by disabling "passive scanning" in my Bluetooth adapter. Must have changed in a system update.

Disabling Passive scanning doesn't seem to have an effect for me. Passive BLE Monitor works fine for me, but no device can be detected trough Govee BLE. I have two devices marked as "H5101/H5102/H5177"

I am having the same issue as the original poster with 2 separate H5074 sensors and the Govee BLE integration.

There is nothing in the logs regarding Govee_BLE integration

It does not appear that this integration generates debug information to the log file even with the debug switch enabled.

H5074s need active scans turned on to work

bdraco avatar Apr 25 '24 14:04 bdraco

Please turn on debug logs for homeassistant.components.bluetooth and post the advertisements for the devices you can't see

bdraco avatar Apr 25 '24 14:04 bdraco

It looks like the H5074s due transmit without active scans, but far less so it should still work in passive mode, just a lot slower to update
