An idea for an elevation map
Hi Sascha Long time no see, I have a new idea, is it possible to add a map layer of terrain elevation, such as this project https://github.com/u-onder/heightmapper.py. It can output layers, which will greatly facilitate the reconstruction of the terrain and may be help the developers of flight simulation 2020 improve the mountain. This should be the URL of the map: https://www.mapzen.com/blog/elevation/, if you can frame it would be great to choose output bitmap and elevation map (no need for place name). I am a plan designer, this function can also be used in my work. I don't know if it is feasible. thanks again. Ha ha Best, ginawzf
Hi ginawzf,
Long time no see, indeed! :D
Thank you very much for your message and the links. The height mapping looks and sounds super interesting!
I am currently working on improvements and new features for the GoPilot, so it might take a while before I can take a closer look, but this is totally going on my wanna-do-list!
Best, Sascha
Looking forward to your updated new features. I have more ideas, haha,It might be more fun if it can automatically display introductions and photos of some nearby attractions. Ha ha As shown below:Scrolling attractions https://www.google.com/search?q=%E6%99%AF%E7%82%B9%E5%9C%B0%E5%9B%BE&biw=1920&bih=937&tbm=lcl&sxsrf=AOaemvJgmPXZm0IOjrn_R3ZR4YrBHXM0PQ%3A1630910492088&ei=HLg1YczbBMjM-QbD8aW4DA&oq=&gs_l=psy-ab.1.1.35i362i39k1l10.5202.5202.0.131710.3.1.2.0.0.0.0.0..1.0....0...1c.1.64.psy-ab..0.3.206.10...193.TSPkfzxWfqo#rlfi=hd:;si:10222232094831998944;mv:[[48.85963006988648,2.297080360535446],[48.8568700944964,2.2890337334907684],null,[48.858250101213834,2.2930570470131073],18]

Hey ginawzf,
That's actually a great idea to display Points of Interest (POI) that might be suitable for a visit with a plane. I will do some research and see if I can find an open database for POIs.
Thanks again for your input!
Best, Sascha
