Problems handling some URLs

Open Gitoffthelawn opened this issue 10 years ago • 4 comments

Sometimes Location Bar Enhancer will not display URLs properly.

As an example, click on 'Keyboard Shortcuts' from Firefox's 'Help' menu. After the page fully resolves, the URL in the Navigation Bar (urlbar) will not appear correctly; specifically, look at the inappropriate truncation on the right side. Now switch to another tab and switch back to that tab. The URL will be erroneous in another way.

This is reproducible every time in Firefox 38.0.1 on Win7 SP1 with Location Bar Enhancer v5.2.1-signed.

Location Bar Enhancer options are: [enabled] Implement breadcrumbs... [disabled] Remove gibberish... [disabled] Make the first... [disabled] Use the... [enabled] Left click on... [enabled] Reload... [enabled] Allow dragging... [enabled] Use the new interface... [enabled] Show page loading progress... [disabled] Use a breadcrumb... [disabled] Show the status...

I'm not sure If I can reproduce this. Can you show a screen shot of the erroneous url?

Sorry, I stopped using Location Bar Enhancer months ago. Even though I liked it quite a bit, I experienced too many bugs and it looked like no one was maintaining it.

Here is how it looks for me on the first run: shot1

The url was too long and LBE asks which part I wanted to see. I think the answer is then saved and it is how it will work for the next time. To see the other end of the url is possible with those arrows on the sides of the location bar.

You might not remember anymore if this not how it worked for you. But I don't see anything erroneous other than how it is designed to work.

I don't remember the details, but the URL issues were rather obvious when following the steps I outlined.

The best way to reproduce would be to install the version of Firefox and LBE tested, and set all the LBE options as specified. Of those three steps, the last step is the simplest.
