Default color scheme too dull (low contrast)

Does anyone else find the default color schemes, both light and dark, too dull (low contrast)? It's hard to read/use without turning up the contrast on my screen. I face the same issue with the default theme on Atom. The schema tab is fine though - it's the rest of the UI that's too low in contrast.

What's the status for this issue? It shouldn't be hard to fix and it would improve the UX a lot.

Additionally, when using Ctrl + F to find text when using the light color scheme, it has a slightly off-white background and white text, making it basically impossible to read

Wanted to point out a specific area of improvement— I think the entire color scheme should be reconsidered for vision accessibility given that this area does not meet the minimum WCAG AA, cited in https://github.com/graphql/graphql-playground/issues/1099

Any update on this now it's summer? I have to close the curtains just to use the UI :(
