Manage tags
It would be nice to be able to manage tag like in Gramps Desktop (view all of them, change colors, change the tag's text, etc.).
@DavidMStraub Does this include Search? From my experience Searching is not resultant in Tags
Do you mean searching for tags or searching for objects with a specific tag?
Pretty sure I tested last night creating a unique tag and search didnt pick up any results at all. So I have events where in the desktop GUI I can clearly goto events and filter and sort by tags this is not possible via web. So currently right now for that event like since tags are not displayed until looking at the detailed event page, I am prefixed events so I can more readily search by what should really just be a tag For instance: [Medical Information (event type)] In the event description, tag could be {Injury} but right now I am prefixing the description w/ Injury: cause I can't search or filter by Injuries in the web gui/page and in the desktop gui I can't really search at all for anything only filter things
I love how fast I can simply search something in the web page, but it has to be spelled perfect and explicitly searched verbatim to show up so any typos are missed.. So I started to try to be more consistent and codifying some entries and then discovered tags would make it easier and less noisy, but the different guis over different functional differences w/ tags.
So it's the latter, got it. It's out of scope of this issue. But the event list views provide a tag filter.
Ah thats good to know but no offense rather unusable. The events list view shows no description, no participants. You'd have to open each one.
True. Another potential feature request 🙈
As part of feature request aside from direct management/engagement would love to see more context of them in the Person View, in events, so you could scroll thru the events and visually see tags w/o just only in the specific EVENT view only. And contextually somewhat a tangent but I used emojis for visual tags and would be nice if you could use those in the SEARCH since currently its not working anywhere in tags or not. Emojis such as https://emojipedia.org/ Keep up the great work, GrampsWeb is soo nice as companion to desktop
Sorry but this is going too far off topic. Please open feature requests to discuss features. This one is about managing tags.
