Question on tensorflow requirement

Hi Team,

just looking at the repo, the only reason i can see that we are including tensorflow as a requirement is to use the Gfile function in the utils.py package ? Can someone validate for me ? are we open to removing it and replacing that with a lighter package ? (assuming i haven't missed where else its used)
