Add enough unit-tests to reach 80% coverage.

We will keep using this for pure unit-test related PRs until we reach 80% coverage; then we will make sure we don't go below it.

Thanks for pointing out this issue @bashir2 I will start working on it once I got time. Looks like a good ticket to get going

Thanks @fruether; just a quick note that coverage tracking was enabled some time ago and we were hovering around ~40% for a while. This issue is to add more unit-tests until we reach 80%.

Updating the title to better reflect what is left from this. As a side note, codecov config is currently broken and should be fixed with the new repo location.
