Start collecting names of people in different areas who are able to help teach/mentor Go for workshops.

@cassandraoid this can be a good starting point: https://twitter.com/Todd_McLeod/lists/golangteachers/members

@markbates and I do go training via http://gopherguides.com. we also do diversity training for free when we can and hope to do even more free or sponsored go training as we continue to grow.

I've done some mentoring and instruction for workshops -- not a lot yet.

For our last workshop at a local University, we had several members of our meetup present. It was a lot of fun.

@cassandraoid collecting names here or other docs such as Wiki? I can put some from JP local mentors there.

Can we clarify the intent? I only ask because it's worded as able to help, but I think we want willing to help. I know this is being super nit picky, but based on my experience, if you put together really solid training materials, almost anyone can present it that has even minor experience with the language.

That said, are we looking for specific characteristics, such as?

  • Language Experience Level?
  • Teaching/Coaching experience?

Once we have that clarified, is the intent to reach out to the people that get listed to see what there level of interest/involvement is?

Please add my name to the list as I'd love to do some workshops for the community. Most of the ones I've done to date have been at conferences and I've yet to actually do any local/community ones of any substance yet.

I'd be happy to be added to the list to organizing/teach/etc workshops.

I'm a Go mentor here and I'm teaching Go here with visual guides.

I've been mentoring Go via Exercism and private coaching / training for a couple of years. I also do some pro bono work helping out underrepresented groups in tech. Perhaps you'd add this link to the list? Golang training from Bitfield Consulting.
