Show only points in a given slice

If we show 3d scatter data on top of a 3d cube in the image viewer, it would be nice to have the option to show only the points that are in the visible slice.

Is there any pointers on how to start working on the issue for a new comer? I do have some data cubes or I could construct some 3D toy data say in FITS format (for use in astronomy) for the testing, and have been playing around with the cubeviz plugin of glue recently.

@kakirastern - this is not an easy issue, I need to discuss it a little more with the people that asked for it to determine how they would want it to behave. I'll post an update here once I do this!
