How fast can you see an outage?
How sensitive is the internet outage tracker? Will it see a problem if it goes down for a few seconds?
We are having problems in our network, it has been going down intermittently for seconds/minutes at a time, once every few days. Our users' network is behind two firewalls, so it is hard to say where the problem is, even though we think strongly is on the service provider side, we have no real proof. I have put a couple of internet-pi in between the firewalls, in every VLAN, and one after the final access point, so hopefully I can grab enough data to find the culprit.
Will it show on the outage panel, on any of my devices, if the internet goes down for a few seconds in the whole day?
The ping check is every 5 seconds by default, so usually that's the minimum resolution you can get. You can visualize performance problems depending on how long you set the speedtest interval to in your configuration. (But if you set it higher, that can eat up a lot of bandwidth).
I am seeing issue #400, which would be interesting
