I'm the owner of that project, and I'd not currently like to do that. So the question is more along the lines could bootstrap.pypa.io/virtualenv/version forward to Github archives?

Ideally, the following rule: ```bash # from: https://bootstrap.pypa.io/virtualenv-{version}/{something} # to: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/pypa/get-virtualenv/{version}/public/{something} ``` Where something is a path, for example: ```bash # this https://bootstrap.pypa.io/virtualenv-20.1.0/3.8/virtualenv.pyz # forwards to https://raw.githubusercontent.com/pypa/get-virtualenv/20.1.0/public/3.8/virtualenv.pyz ```

Yeah with the addendum of also supporting: ``` # this https://bootstrap.pypa.io/virtualenv-20.1.0/virtualenv.pyz # forwards to https://raw.githubusercontent.com/pypa/get-virtualenv/20.1.0/public/virtualenv.pyz ``` Which makes a part of that optional.

Can you replicate this with a docker image? Would speed up finding out what happened significantly.

What's this ``FROM dahanna/python:3.8-detectron2``? ``` docker pull dahanna/python:3.8-detectron2 Error response from daemon: Get https://registry-1.docker.io/v2/: net/http: request canceled while waiting for connection (Client.Timeout exceeded while awaiting headers) ```

This likely seems a bug in the importlib libraries from the way I understand it.

A PR would be welcomed 👍 (though I suspect the problem will be upstream)

I think this should work as general approach. All applications at host environment should be available at virtual environment level.

Note, this would replace our current hack of adding pydoc as part of the activation script.

Just to clarify ideally we'd like both a proposal and vector graphic implementation. I'm ok with VR headsets, but execution matters here.
