Cannot disable page breaks in vertical scrolling mode and TTS pause at page breaks
During TTS readout there will be a significant pause at page breaks.
Also there lacks a "vertical continuous scrolling" mode without page break. The page breaks is visible even when top and bottom border margins are set to zero.
The page breaks are added automatically, even when opening HTML files without page break.
I'm also having a similar issue with TTS. This problem has existed for months now.
Page breaks and some punctuation cause the TTS to pause and skip a section of text, usually to the next break (e.g. a comma).
Interestingly, this issue persists with different TTS engines and different readers so it may be a firmware issue. Someone more familiar with the Android TTS stack might have insight.
Possibly a duplicate of this issue from almost 2 years ago.
I don't use text to speech, but I am very frustrated by the lack of a true continuous vertical scrolling feature. The page breaks are distracting.
I use TTS every day and I have never seen this; there's a "break at page turn" option in the TTS settings, but I'm assuming you already turned that off. If you've got a book that causes this even with that option off, that's surprising, please attach it to the ticket if doing so will not be a copyright violation. If that doesn't work out, you can send it to me at robinleepowell (at) gmail.com and I'll see that the primary developer gets it if necessary.
I have definitely never seen anything that causes TTS to skip chunks after a piece of punctuation, that is super weird.
The TTS pausess aren't just at page breaks: they're at every line break. Even with that "Break at page turn" option off.
