Comments on the minutes (originally provided via email on May 22):
- New Choice construct:
- Summarizing the feedback as “supportive” seems a bit stretched. Although the motivation for the proposal was acknowledged, it was a lot to consider.
- As you note and consistent with the governance, a deeper review by the TAWG should be the next step. The review and analysis of the proposal should consider the motivation and alternatives including the question raised by the task force of whether the new construct is a “workaround” for the lack of more robust support for inheritance.
- FWIW, the issues run deeper than serialization including the need to update generators to support the addition of a new construct.
6d: Is adopting the new construct on the critical path for meeting the revised timeline?
