[Request for ideas] Fastfetch logo design
I'd like to create a logo for fastfetch. It should fit both printing in terminal and using as a repo logo. The current design is

@LinusDierheimer Seems that Github has no repo logo config in Settings section. The logo displayed before Fastfetch title is the avatar of fastfetch-cli group. I don't have permission to change fastfetch-cli group settings. Can you add me to the group maintainer so I can change the logo later?

Sure thing
Thanks @LinusDierheimer
I updated the avatar. Not looks very good TBO (I'm not good at visual design), but is still better than the default one.

I am aware of that. It's currently set to the screenshot of fastfetch
First of all I want to say I love this program and the direction you all are taking it. Moving to JSON scheme is the best choice IMO even though it is hated on by some. Anyway, I felt compelled to contribute something, especially a logo. I used to own a logo business for several years and am pretty fluent with Photoshop. I still do a lot of graphic design today, but mostly theme type stuff. Well, without further ado, I hope you all like it.
Here is a preview of the logo.
Here is the same without a background.
Here is an icon @ ~ 512 px.
And a badge style version to go along with it.
Here is an ASCII rendering in TXT format.
Here are some other ASCII ideas as PNGs.
Let me know what you all think.
Hello @OGbilboswagins
Thanks for your work! Appreciate it! However, I still think fastfetch's logo should represent what it looks like when running, that is some texts in a terminal. In addition, it will be used as fastfetch's exe file icon, which can be displayed in 16x16, so it may not contain too many small elements.
I understand that. The smaller elements also make it harder to turn it into something ASCII. I was working on something else but abandoned it for the one I just showed you. Let me show you that one.
Here is an ASCII representation.
This one is a little more like the one you already have. I can make edits to it so it is more to your liking. For example I can drop it into a terminal window if desired and strip the 3D look from it. But I had the same thought about it being in a terminal window. Its just that everything I drew looked too much like Windows' Terminal icon lol.
Looks better for me.
I'd prefer to put the logo into a terminal window. 3D look is ok however. The logo itself should be an 1:1 square.
The ascii logo seems too big.
compare to current one
The new one is smaller
And rocket 🚀 fireworks lesser house 🏠 looks
Here are 3 more ideas coming at you all...
@OGbilboswagins I like the 3rd option with the rocket.
This bring me more ideas
add
===== to represent color fetch
append symbol >_ that represent command prompt
the 🚀 symbol more lesser 🏠 looks than before
I was thinking something more like this...
![]()
Your 3D rocket 🚀 in box looks awesome if you paint 🎨 some color 🌈 your logo might be used as official ff logo
here I present a elegant ff logo design
Fast ⚡️ Fetch

I think I am done with it unless you all see something else that needs changed, and by all means if you do, please feel free to let me know and I'll do my best to fix it as quickly as possible. Anyway, here are some previews of what it looks like in the terminal with a prompt and another as a stand alone...
Here is a preview of the logo itself...
I have archived everything pertaining to the ASCII part of the logo here...
And then all of your icons from 512px down to 16px, plus a scalable svg in the 'scalable' folder here...
I hope you all like it and enjoy it as much as I did creating it. Again, let me know if there is anything you all think needs to be changed or added, etc.
Thanks!!
@OGbilboswagins i'm just a regular user but i like your first option with the rocket logo better. Where the command prompt is black, when you changed it to white it somehow stood out and caught the eye (it looks less attractive).

That's a good point. I actually agree with you. I went to add color to the ASCII logo and felt that the '>' needed to stand out a bit so I made it white. Then I thought "Well, the logo should match." So that is where that comes from. What color do you think the '>' should be if any color at all? I could make it black on the ASCII and blank in the logo. What do you think?
I'd like to wait and get some feedback from the author and some contributors also before making any changes. Not that @nafanz 's opinion is insignificant or anything. All opinions are welcome; however, the opinions of @CarterLi and the FastFetch staff are most important.
@OGbilboswagins Watt the... How an amazing creation! You can ask CarterLi how think about this

The rocket is creative! Thanks. But the whole logo looks kinda empty to me.
In addition, for the image logo, can you draw it in vector graphic (such as svg) so I can generate png / ico in different size.
@CarterLi I agree that it looks a little empty, but I don't have a clue on what to fill it with. I will try and make the rocket bigger to fill more of the window. Let us see if that helps. Maybe I can add some kind of motion blur to the left side like the 3D rocket above. Also, the icons.tar.gz has an svg in the 'scalable' folder as well as pngs at 512, 256, 128, 64, 48, 32 and 16 px, all included in the icons.tar.gz. But I will work on trying to make it less empty and get back. I will also spit you out an ico file for Windows. I forgot about that.
Thanks.

I didn't know that V2.50.2 changed the bar configuration. The name such charElapsed changed to char.elapsed in jsonc. But how to apply them?

I figured out how to solve that issue Such old configuration
"charElapsed": "I", "charTotal":"_"
Should be changed to new configuration
"char":{"elapsed":"I", "total":"_"}
