Add Option to remove Page Action Button in Firefox

Open BubiBalboa opened this issue 3 years ago • 4 comments

Unfortunately Firefox itself can't remove page action buttons from the URL bar so the extension authors have to include this setting themselves if they want to give the users a choice.

There is not good reason - for me - to have a settings button in such a prominent place in the browser. I set it and forget it so I prefer a normal extension button I can hide or remove myself.

So, the having the option not to show the page action button in the URL bar would be nice.

@BubiBalboa Can you please share an example of some Firefox extension that can switch the action button on/off?

Sure! CanvasBlocker has such a setting called "Show notification icon".

Thank you. The source code for that extension is at https://github.com/kkapsner/CanvasBlocker, I'll take a look.

I think this checkbox exists in modern builds and this issue can be closed, unless I'm misunderstanding. image
